Telugu Desam president, N. Chandrababu Naidu met Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar and Union Commerce Minister, Anand Sharma in Delhi on Monday and took up problems faced by paddy, subabul and tobacco farmers.

Mr. Naidu narrated the woes of farmers to Mr. Pawar and appealed to him to extend certain concessions in procurement of paddy. In his meeting with Mr. Sharma, he wanted him to expedite the appointment of chairman to the tobacco board and to sort out problems between subabul farmers and paper mills.

He told the Ministers that farmers in the State were in deep crisis unable to get remunerative price for farm produce. The State government was not showing any interest in coming to the rescue of the farmers.
