  NBW for mining baron Galli

A court here on Monday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) for the eighth time against the mining baron and Karnataka tourism minister, Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy, for allegedly destroying boundary marks along the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border for illegal mining.

The JMFC magistrate, Mr K.K. Amarnath, issued the NBW and ordered Mr Reddy to be produced in court on or before August 26, after he failed to appear in court on Monday.

Mr Tappal Narayana Reddy, a mine owner had in 2006 filed a complaint against Mr Janardhan Reddy and some others accusing them of destroying the boundary marks at Vitlapura, Tumti on the Karnataka border and at Malapuragudi in AP.

After the police filed a case in this connection, Mr Reddy got an anticipatory bail, but did not appear before the court when it issued an NBW on December 30, 2009. Since then NBWs were issued against him on February 4, April 3, April 24, May 24, June 26 and July 9.
